Tell them up front because there is no negotiating on the price. It comes from GM. The only thing you may want to negotiate ahead is trade-in's.

I recently bought a new Dmax c/c 4x4 and had a hard time finding a local dealer that would accept the certificate and the supplier price that went along with it. Considering that dealer participation in this program is optional and that those trucks were few and far between here in the Atlanta market, I actually had to travel out of state to get the truck I wanted at anywhere near the certificate price. Not a problem , I actually turned the trip into a family vacation.

The point is that you want to make sure that the dealer will give this price and then double check his numbers because I had two dealers say that they would honor the certificate price and then quote a price that was substantially higher than it should have been. When I called them on it they both then changed their tune and said sorry that they in-fact could not honor the price. Do your homework.
