What are my options for a scanner to pull up and reset codes? I know I can use a Predator etc.. I want a cheap way to pull codes and reset them..

Any Ideas would be appreciated.

I bought an actron at Autozone.I bought the $279.95 CP9145.I got tired of running down to the dealer to re-set the 1093 code everytime it gets really cold up here.
Its nice to have around for the other cars and trucks in the driveway too.

Hi Guys,

I will soon be in the market for an affordable code reader/scanner. I have done a little research and these seem to be real reputable. I have soon other brands at places like Canadian Tire and Princess Auto, but I figure for a few extra dollars why not go with a well know name.

My question is concerning which one to get, and why does it say they are good for domestic cars and light trucks? Are the heavy duty truck line different that you need a different reader to scan codes? ( 2500HD and 3500HD ) I dont own a HD (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/autolink.php?id=46&script=showthread&forumid=64) truck yet, but when I do finally buy, I dont want to have to buy another scanner. Also, all of our vehicles are OBDII (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/autolink.php?id=60&script=showthread&forumid=64), except for my Dads 1988 GMC 1500.

I am looking at this as well. I am waiting until the are able to read the LBZ (candi bus capable), but my wife has an 02 Camaro Z28 and my old car is a 94 Olds Cutlass Supreme (OBD 1 / Tech 1). Very few scanners can read the OBD1 and I am still might sell it so I am not as concerned about that.

Anyone have any experience with a scanner used for more than the diesel's? Any good or bad impressions? likes/dislikes? I just want to make sure I make a good investment I can really use.

MB do you use yours on your vette? How does it work?
