: Transfer Tanks
Alaska Duramax 03-17-2004, 10:46 AM I searched but after looking through the first 10 pages of 197 I came up with nothin. Searched for "Transfer Tank" "transfer fuel tank" used a combination of message body and topic trying to refine it.
If there is a link that is out there will someone post it in this thread for me and everyone else?
QUESTIONS-
Who makes them? Website?
How well to they work? How easy are they to install? Do they come in under the bed style or just in the bed types?
I am looking to put atleast another 30 gallons to the 03 ccsb.
Thanks in advance
smokeystover 03-17-2004, 10:51 AM Try the following web site:

Alaska Duramax 03-17-2004, 10:57 AM Thank you. That hits the spot.
Captain Beefheart 03-17-2004, 11:28 AM If you do order a tank from them, be prepared to wait! I ordered the 56 gal. tank about 2 1/2 weeks ago and was just informed yesterday that it won't ship for another 2 weeks or so.
I thought I had ordered it in plenty of time to take a cross-country trip from the east coast to San Diego, but unfortunately I have to make the trip without it.
PA24Pilot 03-17-2004, 05:14 PM Sounds like the story I got on my fill neck kit. It took one month for it to arrive, it's like they don't stock anything in house. When they get an order they go to their supplier to have one built. I just got my fill neck kit installed last night, haven't had a chance to try a fill-up yet.

Alaska Duramax 03-17-2004, 05:31 PM Wow.
Thanks, any other sources?
Deadeye 03-17-2004, 05:34 PM Who makes 'plastic' ones? Got to be others out there. . . ?
Captain Beefheart 03-17-2004, 05:54 PM There's a company called "Supertanks" at http://www.supertanks.com/ that sells the polyethylene tanks. I don't know anything about them other than what I saw on their website.
Alaska Duramax 03-18-2004, 09:45 AM that supertanks site sucks. But thanks for the link.
Idle_Chatter 03-18-2004, 09:50 AM Alaska, toolbox or in-bed transfer tanks can be had from many sources, including www.Northerntools.com (http://www.Northerntools.com)
These are mostly "do-it-yourself" rigs and you will have to work up your own plumbing etc. I have an American Tanks aux tank that came as a complete kit, including all hardware, wiring, hoses, tools, etc. Love it, but it wasn't cheap! If you do a Google search on fuel tanks, you'll find a lot of sources.
Deadeye 03-19-2004, 08:49 AM Does anyone make a fuel tank with a drain plug in it for removing water and 'crap'?

My American Tank aux tank has a drain boss. I have a ball valve and drain hose plumbed to it, but have yet to use it (knock wood)!
Alaska Duramax 03-19-2004, 03:59 PM Thanks guys this is not only helping me but also the database of this site.

freddyo 03-22-2004, 12:10 AM I ordered, received, and am ready to install a Transfer Flow. No problem on the delivery. Their tanks are the only after market ones on the market approved by the DOT. The sweet features of their tanks is the automatic transfer of fuel to the OEM and its being tied into the GM electronics so that the guage and DIC includes the fuel in their tank as well as the OEM. They just got their software modified for the LLY.

Just a minor point, freddyo, the Transferflow tank is ONE of the the DOT approved tanks - NOT the ONLY ONE. Many of the in-bed, toolbox and "transfer tanks" are not DOT approved, however many other brands and options are DOT approved as is my American Tank in-bed.
freddyo 03-22-2004, 11:28 AM Idle_Chatter -
Thanks for the correction.
