I called the contact us number I found on the GM web-site, But they really weren't too helpfull. My 06 LLY had a glowplug issue, I took it in to have them replaced and the next thing i Knew the motor was pulled out of the truck. I just found out they are replacing 3 pistons and 2 heads on the truck. As you might guess, im not a thrilled about having major engine work done on a truck thats 4 months old:mad:

If you are calling to register a complaint about the truck - the customer service number in your manual (given in an earlier post) will work. If you think the dealer has screwed up, tell the service manager you want to set up an appointment to talk to the Factory Zone Rep. In fact you might want to speak to the factory rep in either case. You might sugget to him/her that if a faulty glow plug caused this damage, they should all be replaced.

As the saying goes, sh!t happens, but I don't blame you a bit for being upset. I'd be pi$$ed too!!

If it was me they'd be buying me a new truck... not supposed to do any work w/o informing customer. GM may be footing the bill but it's NOT their truck.

I would have to agree. That is grounds in my mind for GM to do some massive reimbursement. I would have lost it.

Thanks for the posts guys. I did try the 222-1020 customer service number. the Guy I spoke to said he would contact the dealer and get all the information I needed and then call me back monday by 2 pm at 330 I called him, he would not answer his phone. I called back the next day and spoke to someone else they said they could not do anything for me. I called back last night and spoke to yet another person, and he said the motor is warranteed to 100,000 so I shouldnt worry. I then asked if that covered everything, as I heard there were seals and gaskets that werent covered, he assured me everything was covered. I then asked about the turbo as I am concerned some of the chips may have damage the internals when they passed through. He told me anything I put on would not be covered by the warrantee. it took me 15 minutes to get him to understand it was put on at the factory. I finally called in today and spoke to a manager for customer service, he basically said they wont do anything for me, but he will "coach" the people who I spoke to, so this doesnt happen again. Im gonna have to call the rep. anyone know where I can get the number?

The tips are breaking off in the cylinders, thus the damage to the pistons and the heads as the pieces were pushed out of the cylinders. GM knows about the issue, there is a tech bulletin

If it was me they'd be buying me a new truck... not supposed to do any work w/o informing customer. GM may be footing the bill but it's NOT their truck.so what is the diffrence if they tell you before they tear it down you would still need to have it fixed or would you drive it till it grenaded.

when you take it in demand a like loaner. & don't bring the loaner back until they have agreed to terms on your truck. It's a loaner you didn't steal it.

I really don't understand dealerships jacking a customer. Whether or not they bought the truck new or even at that dealership. A good service manager can get a lot of stuff pushed through if he wants.

Hey RVTRKN. I didn't have $30K-$40K to buy a new truck. I got a little $hit for buying a 6.5L. But you know what. My sister in-law bought a 2005 Dodge brand new and now wants to trade it in on something else because of all the problems and the dealer just can't quite seem to fix it. I'll stick with my 6.5L until it treats me like her Dodge.

I finally got the consumer affairs involved in massachusetts. the dealer has 15 business days to get the truck back to me. that will be up this week. I have to send a registered letter to GM stating they now have 7 business days to get it fixed or they own it.
