: Problem with my Bogeson Intermediate Shaft?

I ordered the intermediate shaft from Borgeson a few weeks ago and installed it myself. It was a real bear to install, too. The shaft doesn't telescope easily at all, and it took me about an hour of swearing to finally get it in. This week I started feeling a clunk stoping and taking off, so I figured I'd pull the shaft and see what's up. Well, with much force and many good taps from a small hammer, I had it out and on my bench. The shaft seems to be totally locked up and will not telescope at all, even with all of my weight on it (200lbs).

Did anyone else have this issue with the Borgeson shaft? I wanted to check here before I called Borgeson

Thanks.

I also installed a Borgeson shaft which made the problem worse . The shaft was extremely stiff and made the knock problem worse. I phoned the tech people at Borgeson. They said to return it for a full refund as they said they were having problems with the current shaft. I lubed my old Chevy shaft re-installed and has been good since. Use a heavy grease.

Thanks Laker. I'll give Borgeson a call tomorrow. I reinstalled the original shaft again. I lubed it up, too, and the problem in gone for now.

I tried to install the first one they gave me with the steering damping. I could not install it at all. Could not bottom it out without forcing a lot of pressure on it.

Sent it back(the lady said they never heard of such a problem). Got mine back here last month...will intall and hopefully this will cure the problem.
