4G634EVER 03-16-2004, 12:32 PM Hello all, On the way to work today in my D-max, I saw a brand spanking new srt10 for the first time. Looks very sharp! aside from the ricer wing on the back of a pickup. Just wondering if a mild moded D-max can give srt10 a good run?
Micheal Tomac 03-16-2004, 12:39 PM Yes, especially if the srt10 driver doesn't know how to launch a stick and row gears
I'm just waiting to come up against one on the street or the trackhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif
grasshopper 03-16-2004, 12:41 PM haha, SWEET. I don't think they are as great as people expected them to be! I looked at some tests they didn't impress me at ALL!!!
4G634EVER 03-16-2004, 01:05 PM I've read a little more about them, at 500hp and 14" disc brake, and traps around 13.8 at 105 it is pretty stout. So Ford have lighting and now dodge got srt10 and GM has???? overweight, underpowered SS. agh, maybe GM let the D-max filled that slot on purposehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif
Quadzilla 03-16-2004, 01:10 PM There is one in Dallas that is probably still scratching his head.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
grasshopper 03-16-2004, 02:59 PM haha thats too funny
rpbdawg 03-16-2004, 03:06 PM We have a 04 that dusted one at the drag strip.

They make 500hp? If thats the case they should go alot faster than 13.8 @ 105.

From a thread on setdr.org where DavidTD ran one on his dyno:
I know it's not a diesel but the SRT-10 Ram I dyno'd Saturday put down a good number.
421/466 boys...
First one I have seen and I liked it.
Tim Hayes the owner ran it down the track with a lazy launch and netted a 14.4 1/4 mile pass.

By my calculations that is a 15.8 percent loss to the drivetrain. Not too shabby on the numbers.Edited by: BMDMAX
Morse 03-16-2004, 04:45 PM I raced one at the track and it did beat me.. I had a slight lead at the eighth though.. It was bone stock, though the driver is no newby.. He made several passes.. His best being a 13.27 @ 104.. He cut a 2.0 sixty as well.. I was very impressed with that.. 2wd, stick, 22's, and plenty of power.. It seems like it would have to be hard to launch..
GreenDuramax04 03-16-2004, 04:57 PM 13.27 sounds a little better. If that's on street tires then it will go 12's with slicks. Not bad for a truck. I guess I'll have to watch out for those on the street.

Amric 03-16-2004, 08:00 PM I've pulled up along side two of them recently on I-75 near the Chrysler headquarters. Both times were before I had the ATS, so I didn't stand a chance. Next time might be different.
Super Diesel 03-17-2004, 01:33 AM 4G634EVER. You'll have a much better chance of spanking it at our altitude if your runnin at least a 145 hot juice. They loose a full second or so up here through the 1/4. Altitude is brutal on naturaly asperated motors. We only loose about half that. I cann't wait. I have a PPE tech 4 stacked with a hot OJ and propane topped off with N2O, if it's a close one. Most stick with racin the GEOs and such after a taste. Boy, is it fun. I hope I can keep my license! 4G634EVER 03-17-2004, 10:17 AM Super Diesel, That sounds like a very mean setup you got there. How fast does those combos run you at Bandi? All I have is an K&N intake and Predator 1.10b at 120hp level. I ran 15.2@92mph last year with 60' time of 2.2. I would love to see a stock SRT10 run at Bandi this year, just to see how much altitude really does affect them.
