I put a volant on and hated how loud the system made my truck sound under the hood. I am sending this unit back and wanted to know if anyone has the afe stage 2 magnum air intake system and does it sound louder than stock system. I see where they have the turbo resonator hooked to it so I am wondering if that quiets it down. I got better gas mileage with the air box system on so I believe in them but just was annoyed with how loud it made it sound under the hood. Thanks for your input.

What do you mean by louder. If you mean turbo yes it does make the turbo lowder, but i like listening to the turbo.

btw guys, is the afe stage 2 the best intake to make the turbo louder, nothing sounds no better imo....:D

It sounds like a very loud vacuum cleaner that is turned on and it drives me crazy. Right around 70-75 there is a very loud drone in the cab and I am used to the quietness you know. I don't know if any cold air intake will give me the performance but yet the quietness I am looking for.

So no high pitch sound just a low vaccum cleaner sound?? Sound like that may be cause of your exhaust. All my AFE does is let you hear the turbo.
