: Why preserve??

This makes no sense...why preserve the injectors/fuel system with extra filtration and additives so they make fail after warranty..why not drive it how it is designed...and maybe let them fail when they were seemingly designed to..at like 75k..100 dollar deductible is still cheaper than prefiltration and a ton of standadyne. Am I missing the big picture or has this already been discussed? I usually post ignorance...so bear with me.

I guess the hope is to never have them fail. I know I would sure prefer to never have mind unbuttoned.

Boy I was thinking the exact same thing.

But the way I get flamed for posting anything I figured I would not say anything.

If the injectors normally go out between 15-75k and you make the fuel 4 times cleaner you moved the failure out to 60-300k miles.

The big question has to be decided at 70k miles. Banks wont finace used vehicles anymore (actually 80k miles). So if you dont sell it by say 70k you've limited the amount of people who can afford to buy the truck to cash buyers only (tough sell).

Nevermind the 100k warranty.

Hmmm, not true at my bank.

My Son (21) just picked up a loan on a '99 Short Bed Five Speed 350 Chevy (hard to find) already lowered and tricked out with 150,000 on the odometer. The loan was for $5000.00, it was his first loan w/o Mom and Dad needing to sign.

By the way the truck still runs out great and looks great!

My worry is I only put 10K on per year, in 5 years the warranty is up and the truck only has 50,000 miles on it. If the injectors fail at 55K I'm S.O.L.

Good point. Anyone want to buy a slightly used Racor system?

I'm in the same camp as Dmaxcan. I put on around 9k miles per year, and will hit the 5 year mark way before 100,000 miles. Anyone know what the longest GMPP warrenty is that can be purchased?
