Has anyone installed a pre-manufactured sub box under the back seat in a Crew Cab? What mfg. did you choose? Is the sound quality at least OK? The box out of my 2002 Ext. cab is way to tall.

I put a set of 10" MTX subs BEHIND the seat in my crew cab. They work great. you can get them at crutchfield.com

You will lose your fold down function with an "under the seat" box. That's why I too went behind the seat with two 10".

Look at this thread on what I installed... http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57813

Subthump worked great for me. Pretty damn loud. Allthough I do have 900 watts at 1ohm.

I also have 2 10" behind the seat, picked up my box at Circut City for around 100 bucks... under the seat is where the amps, CD Changer, and Electronic Crossovers, go :) . Just be sure when you are sub shopping that you get the type designed for the shallow box, I have Kicker Pro Comps, they work great.

i built my own boxes out of 5/8 particle board and 23/32 plywood. and put 2 12" mtx thunder 6,000's in them under each rear seat with a kenwood 600 watt amp. i can take pics if anyone wants to see them. i just did it 3-4 weeks ago and i havent covered them with fabric yet.

Not bad, I would strongly reccomend MDF for future boxes though.
