When my low fuel light comes on the needle is at or below "E". I can get 25.6 gallons in the tank filled to the neck. How big is this tank and how many gallons does everyone else avg?

I am an old fart and learned many years ago to run on the top half of my tank. (26 gallon) I did run my tank down to 1/4 awhile back to see how accurate the gauge is. It took 21.3 to fill it. Later! Frank

The most I have ever put in is around 24.5 Gals. Showed 1 line above e, no light, filled to the top of the neck.

i suggest you read the manual again, i have and it does not tell you squat for a crew cab short bed. I had to ask other owners. I will bet yours says the same thing as mine, nothing. Bet you had to ask too. Fess up. Want me toprint the ps manual for proof?

I have a short bed and believe me or not, but I've put over 26 gallons in my tank when I ran it with the low fuel light on for 45 miles. I think it took 26.4 gal.

The tank might be 26 gal, but there is also the filler neck. Shoud be a good 1/2 - 1 gal in there.

I put over 27 gallons in my 1/2 ton short box many times. I've put over 26 in my 8.1 lots of times too. I tend not to let it get so low now though since I ran out once :(

It's surprising to me that so many people are having fuel tank issues lately - must be something "new" about the senders/sensors. I've always used the low fuel light since day one. I use it to swap tanks between main and aux. When my low fuel light comes on in my main tank (26 gallons), it takes 24 to fill it back up to visible fuel level in the filler neck. When it comes on in my aux tank (43 gallons) it takes 32 gallons to fill it up to within 1" of the top. I usually alternate tanks continuously to keep my fuel "fresh."

26.9 Gallons in my tank twice now. CC short bed. They say it depends on how much is in the neck and already exited the tank on its way to the motor.
