Anyone have a copy of this bullitin? I tried to check the GM calibration history site and unable to get any information from there site with my vin #. Had the truck in for service last week, dealer added 4-5th lockout switch and claims i,m up to date with tcm updates. 3/6 the calibration history didn't show this tbs. Edited by: Biodiesel66

Reprogram the Transmission Control Module (TCM) with the new service calibrations which were available from Techline starting March 24, 2002 on the TIS2000 version 3.5 or later. These calibrations are electronic calibrations and are NOT available from GMSPO.
These new calibrations will address the following conditions:

2002 Vehicles with 8.1L Engine --
If the concern is shift busyness, the PCM must also be reflashed to gain maximum benefit from the new TCM service calibration. This calibration was available from Techline starting March 10, 2002 on the TIS2000 version 3.0 or later. If the concern is not shift busyness, this step is not required.
This additional step is not required on vehicles with a 6.6L diesel engine (RPO LB7) or 2001 vehicles with an 8.1L engine (RPO L18).

Does this mean 2003 and later trucks are not affected and have the updated tune?
Thanks

Any truck built after the March,2002 timeframe came with the updated programs for the conditions listed above. However, there still may be other updates available for your vehicle for conditions not listed above.
My truck was built in Oct, 2001 (2002 model). I had several of the issues above and about a month ago the dealer updated both the TCM and ECM as described by this TSB. So what I got was all the changes listed above plus any other software changes they made from Mar 2002 to Feb 2004.
