: Can a lbz make 800hp and how
ozzy61080 02-03-2006, 03:14 PM I am new to this forum, I have been reading it for a while and wishing for an 06 lbz. I currently drive a ford but I really want to get back in a chevy. Anyway, I was at a chevy dealership and they said they could chip the truck and bump the hp up to 600 and to as much as 800 if I wanted them to. They said it would not void the warranty and that the engine was capable of it. What do you guys think? I would think that they would have to do a lot more than a chip, I think he was thinking intake and exhaust too. I didnt really get to ask any questions, a salesman I have previously bought from caught me when I was driving through and dreaming of a new truck. I appreciate any info and love this forum, lots of great info on it.
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 03:17 PM tell us what dealer so i can sell my LBZ and rebuy one from them if they are going to honor the warranty @ 800 horse!!!! SIGN ME UP!!!
Brayden 02-03-2006, 03:52 PM Hah... Stupid dealers.. I'd love to see their faces when you take them for a ride in a real 600RWHP truck.. They'd crap themselves.. and immediately dishonor the warranty :)
I can't stand that.. Well stock is 350, so we'll add 120 with an edge and 120 with a predator, plus about 50 hp for exhaust, intake, gauges and stickers...
Yep.. That's 640hp allright
BMDMAX 02-03-2006, 03:54 PM OMFG that is the best dealer line I have ever heard. 800HP with warranty.... LOL.
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 03:56 PM Like i said. I will even take the hit on selling my new LBZ to buy one from that dealer. Tell them they are stoned or you want some of what they are smoking and pass it to all of us!!! LOL !!!
jmg343 02-03-2006, 04:12 PM Im with predatorhummer...point me to this guy.
big truck big power 02-03-2006, 04:18 PM Brandon Let them go for a ride in your LB7 and see what they have to say..lol i agree they would sh!t them selves
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 04:23 PM tell them they have a bunch of guys coming to buy new trucks if they are going to do that. He won't be able to keep them in stock!!! They would be the highest selling dealer in the states!!
Jazman 02-03-2006, 04:26 PM I'll take ten. Honestly I think the most you could imagine out of one of these is around 400hp to maybe 450hp with some seceret stuff. There is just nothing on the market for a .....hang on let me do the math
800Hp
-360HP
440hp<<----chip, that is if we are talkin flywheel/
tell them you want the 30mpg LBZ too

Crawling82toyota 02-03-2006, 05:05 PM Hey Predetor....where did you get that Blue Moto 5 inch exhuast with 6 inch tip for your lbz and for how much $$$......i have been driving with my stock exhuast minus the muffler and cat and it looks way too small...help me out :help:
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 05:08 PM i have a buddy that owns an exhaust shop here in town. but i know you can go to rpmoutlet.com and get it.
where do you live. maybe you can just come to Albuquerque and get-r-done
Crawling82toyota 02-03-2006, 05:16 PM I am actually in CA.....but i am gonna check out that place right now.....btw:offtopic: but what do u think about this......on 38'' tires.....18'' rims or 16'' i am going with Moto Metal 951 Black on my 06 White Lbz??
Crawling82toyota 02-03-2006, 05:25 PM And when i look at the RPMOUTLET they dont say the exhaust will work for the LBZ?? Should i call them??
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 05:25 PM go with the 18's. black would look good.
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 05:27 PM I would call them. I was told that it is the same exhaust as the LLY with the turbo back. removes the cat. or you can call 505-266-8373 and ask for Eloy. Just tell him that Steve Force sent you and he will know. They call me that since I was on a Top Fuel team building engines. :ro)
Crawling82toyota 02-03-2006, 05:39 PM Sweet....i like the no cat...but does it have a muffler? Cause personally i dont want that either....:ro)
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 05:43 PM i had to install a muffler with a baffle. it is the same muffler that I had on my Peterbilt when I put straight stacks on it. I guess that you can go without but will get EGR codes. I am getting them as well but am looking into fingers products to kill the light and block off the EGR
Crawling82toyota 02-03-2006, 05:47 PM Yea i get codes now too with my straight pipe but only when i am towing. I am probably going to get the Banks Tuner or Edge when it comes out and look into deleting those codes or blocking them like you are...so i think i will go with 5 inch straight pipe and no cat or muffler.....you get a real deep thoaty sound when you getting on it with that exhaust huh?? and i bet that turbo whistles like a mother...
predatorhummer 02-03-2006, 06:19 PM my turbo sounds pretty good now. I had the same exhaust on my 2002 LB7 motor and it was loud. this one is pretty quiet. I am amazed on how quiet it is. It sounds like a built big block rather than a diesel. Once I can trick the PCM for the codes, I am going to cut the baffle out of my muffler. I would go with EDGE. I know a guy that worked for banks and they admit there is a problem with EGT temps. They don't tell the public that but it happens.

I havent put the sub box in yet, but here is the old one:http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47047&highlight=finished+system
I am going to redesign it so that the seats dont have to be lifted up and look at putting it in soon.
predatorhummer 02-04-2006, 12:15 AM good looking truck. I am working on my sub box tonight. I have been taking pics as I go.
ozzy61080 02-04-2006, 10:56 AM I was kind of doubtful of the 800 hp too. They said they have a few trucks they sold with 600 hp, and only one that went to 800hp. They said they could make it have as much power as I wanted up to 800hp. The dealership does the mods themselves, my dad told me that the manager in the service department was into drag racing and that he could probably do what he said. I have known the salesman for about 12 years and I dont think he would lie to me but I dont get how they could make 800hp. By the way he has rode in the truck with 800hp and said that it was just plain dangerous.
ozzy61080 02-04-2006, 11:00 AM I forgot to tell everyone, the salesman said the 800hp truck blew the doors off a zo6 vette at the drag strip. I would have loved to see that. When I get a chance I'll go back to the dealership and talk to them more about the mods and let you know what they say and what mods they have to do.
TurboBeagleBuggy 02-04-2006, 12:07 PM the salesman said the 800hp truck blew the doors off a zo6 vette
It happens from time to time, don't take 800 hp either:

predatorhummer 02-05-2006, 04:34 PM Tell your buddy that I am on my way to trade in my 06 LBZ for one of those high horse jobbers.
06CrewCabDually4x4 02-05-2006, 08:17 PM While that is one impressive run @ 12.40 for a truck, that Z06 driver didnt know how to drive that car. I got a 03 Z06 , of course its not stock either over 700 hp. If that driver knew how to drive that vette. it would have been a closer race. 12.40 or lower is about right for a 405hp Z06, if you know how to drive it. Still thats fast for a truck. Im immpressed. Thanks God is was a chevy truck and not a Ford or Dodge;)

Look their is noway a DMAX (LBZ) will make that kinda power on fuel alone. The fuel system just isnt capable of supporting it. They would have to give you a truck on Pane and N2O.
And what about the Alli?? I guess they think that it is just going to hold all that power just fine.
Jperry 02-06-2006, 01:16 PM Think you need to get that in writing then have a lawyer review it. THEN BUY!!!
predatorhummer 02-07-2006, 02:28 AM Think you need to get that in writing then have a lawyer review it. THEN BUY!!!
I am with Jperry. Get it in writing and buy it. Then see how the execs at GM think when the warranty claims sky rocket and when GM does an internal audit of the dealership of the high warranty claims and review each work order and watch them FREAK OUT and put the dealership on probation.
ratlover 02-07-2006, 12:11 PM The guy is FOS. The guy is so FOS it isnt even funny......ok.....actually that is hilarious. My truck ran 11's in the 1/4(it ate plenty of vettes:D ). I know what it takes to get there. I was probably making close to 800 at the crank with N2O and I made just under 500 at the rear wheels off of N2O. The dealer is either a liar or a idiot.
Also a stock allison also wont hold 500 HP let alone 800;)
I also call BS on him being in a 600 HP to the rear wheels truck. Tell him to sign up here and we can rip him apart. I dont care if he has been drag racing since he was 3 he is FOS.
:welcome: BTW. If you get a duramax We can help you get to 600HP but it wont include a warantee;) :D
predatorhummer 02-07-2006, 01:02 PM :nutkick: kick the salesman
:agreed: I am in agreement with the moderator
OneTALLGMC96 02-07-2006, 04:43 PM Hey ratlover...
The stock allison won't hold 500hp, heck mine won't hold 400-450!! I must have got ripped-off if my little 'ol 447horsepower is limping my trans regularly!
Ratlover for President:lol: !!!

I think that run was at 6000 altitude. If so thats not a bad time for the vette.
06DMAX4ME 02-09-2006, 10:45 PM 800! my stock trans almost did'nt shift with the DB on extreme.
