does anyone out there have any info. on how i could get a drivetrain warranty or drivetrain insurance on my 06'2500. i am just to impatient to wait for the dealer warranty to run out to start making drivetrain mods to my truck. my wife already talked to my insurance company(progressive) and they said that they have never heard of such a thing. any help on this issue is greatly appreciated..:D

Never heard of any kind of insurance of this nature. I think your insurance is right. Do a search on the internet maybe there is you never know

Only extended warranty you can get is GM or aftermarket. Neither one will warranty modified vehicles.
If you buy a aftermarket built tranny/converter from reputable builder, you may get a warranty from them

What mods are you considering?:D i want to do pretty much every possible mod. imaginable. i want to get all the best mods for the drivetrain,exterior,interior,etc.. i've already got a 6"fabtech lift w/35"bfgoodrich mud terrains on 18x9" pro comp wheels, i've also got wheel to wheel nerf bars installed w/a grilleguard. sorry, no pics yet, i'm in iraq. the wife is working on getting me some sent to my e-mail..:grd:

According to my dealer, the drivetrain warranty on the '06 is 100k.

6.6L DURAMAX Diesel Engine Warranty
For trucks equipped with the 6.6L Duramax Diesel Engine the complete engine assembly, including turbocharger components, is covered for defects in the material or workmanship for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. No deductible applies during this coverage period. The engine parts listed next continue to be covered, subject to a $100.00 deductible, for 5 years or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first.
Cylinder block and heads and all internal parts, intake and exhaust manifolds, timing gears, timing gear chain or belt and cover, flywheel, harmonic balancer, valve covers, oil pan, oil pump, water pump, fuel pump, engine mounts, seals and gaskets
Diesel Fuel Metering System: injection pump, nozzles, high pressure lines and high pressure sealing devices
Glow Plug Control System: control/glow plug assembly, glow plugs, cold advance relay, and ECM
Fuel injection control module, integral oil cooler, transmission adapter plate, left and right common fuel rails, fuel filter assembly, fuel temperature sensor and function block

Geesh, I should have bought mine from your dealer!! I only got a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty on my drive train. :eek:
