When you replace a very high mileage set of injectors, do you need to replace the injection pump as well (considering that it is also high mileage, but still seems to work)?

I heard a rumor that you do, but I don't quite believe it. Something about the pump no longer developing enough pressure to fire a new injector or something... I don't think I buy it.

Thanks in advance.

Replace the injectors and don't look back. The injection pump will be able to pop the new injectors. If you're replacing with 6.5 injectors (which have a higher pop pressure) you might have a problem.

You can swap them out. Pump will never know.

Thanks for the info, guys. I didn't quite believe it, glad I checked. I guess at some point here I'll be replacing my injectors. Thanks.
