Do any of the techs or other people on site know why GM shut down the truck assembly line today. CNN said it was for problems with the transmissions in the trucks. Since I own an SUV and D/A, I was hoping to see something on the site, but couldn't find anything.

The transmissions, produced at GM's Willow Run, Mich., transmission plant, were installed in the Chevrolet Express and Silverado, GMC Suburban, Sierra, Savana and Yukon XL and W4 medium duty trucks.
Doesn't look like the Allison was involved in this. I would have to say it was the 4L80E tranny.

Yes, it was 4L80E and 4L85E transmissions only.
