If I recall the Gree keys lift 1.5" you don't want to go ay higher than 2" so be careful.

If they had a white dot on them, they wouldn't be green keys!!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

GM makes 5 colors of keys all with the same part #. Orange, purple, green, blue, and white. Not sure what the application for the white keys is.

I got mine at the local Chevy dealer. $47 total out the door price.

I priced the $20 ones, and by the time the shipping was added in, they were going to be $51 and some change.

Yea, the best place is the Chevy dealer. Shipping kills the good deals online.

Without the proper tools, you or a helper could easily get hurt.

I used an 8" wheel puller and it didn`t fit right, this coused the lip on the cross member to get bent. (No biggie) But one time as I was loading the key, the puller came off. I was ready for it, so no big deal.

On the 1/2 ton trucks I always used a bolt and a jack, but these seam to have a little more tention on them.

I would buy/rent/barrow the correct tool if I was doing it again.

i had a hard time with my drivers side, ended up gettign the GM torsion bar tool. lots more leverage than a 5 ton gear puller. the whole job only takes about. an hour, pretty straightforward

Would the same keys work for a 2004 chevrolet Z-71 tahoe. I have the green keys on my 02 Dmax with bilsteins and really like it. Wife just got a Tahoe and I would like to level it out. If so what keys would?

dag, for your tahoe you would actually need to use the Ford keys from a 2000 F150 which is PN XL3Z5B328CA. The green keys are used on the HD's and the Ford keys are used on the 1500 series trucks. Now to confuse you more, the green keys come stock on the 1500 series trucks which I believe is the same for the Tahoes but not sure. So you may already have the green keys on the Tahoe already therefore you will need the Ford keys to lift it. Clear as mud!!!!

Thanks! The tahoe does have the green keys. So I can get the ford keys and then sell the green ones to someone with a D-max!
