: 6 LITER.....I like it a LOT!

Just over 340 miles so far. This truck is very SPUNKY. Don't see many praising it like the Duramax. I only tow a light 16' landscape trailer. Stop, mow, go, all day long. The Duramax wasn't really an option to me, and with a $7k charge for it, seemed out of the question.

Anyone have any figures on 0-60 and 1/4mile on a REGULAR CAB 2500HD 6.0 4.10's?

While I haven't been beating it, it does seem to run out of steam above 4500 RPM. Could this be the HD air filter restricting flow? It sure isn't the exhaust, as it's basically a true dual 3" system with the last part of the tailpipe Y-ing together into a single 3 1/2" pipe. Sure sounds sweet at idle. Props go to the engineers on this exhaust!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/F2D_Truck1.jpg

Get a good intake and exhaust and it will pull like a frieght train to 5600-5900 rpm!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

As far as exhaust goes....I've heard that the stock setup flows pretty darn good for factory. Intake seems to be a big bottleneck.

What can you reccomend as far as exhaust? What do you have? Were the '01's exhaust different than mine?

Thanks!

It does flow good. Unless you start doing mods to the truck. Then it starts to hinder performance. I have a dual in/out in the stock location. But I dumped my exhaust at the spare tire. Also, for the intake. Look inot UPD intakes. I love mine and noticed quite a difference.

I really don't want to mess with the factory exhaust, as its all aluminized stainless steel. And the conditions I will work in, this is VERY important.

Do those aftermarket intakes make a lot of intake noise? While loud mufflers and loud intakes are cool when your young, they soon get annoying in day to day work conditions.

Would a drop in K&N or Amsoil, or (Other) filter be a better choice?

The UPD doesnt make much noise at all. A drop in would be better than stock. But a full intake will help much more.
