Hi I am new to the diesel circut, just picking up an 05 C3500 CC Duramax. This truck will not be used everyday and will mostly sit except for once a week(weather permitting) in the winter just to keep juices flowing. I bought it mainly to haul my TT in summer time. Is there anything I should do besides keeping tank full, plugging it in to keep engine warm. Would I be looking for trouble keeping the block heater plugged in all the time Should I add an additive to the tank, if so what?. Any help would be great. Thanks Mike

I wouldn't leave it plugged in. Where do you live? many start with temps near zero F without the block heater.

I would not leave it plugged in... you would probably be fine with a good 'warm-up drive' once a week.

Yes, add an additive... many choices/preferences out there. Personally, I use the white bottle (winter formula) PowerService. It is readily available in my area, and pretty easy on the wallet. Cheers.
