Next week i'm sending in my 00 for a complete suspension package, 6" lift, triple front shock towers, probably going with the ladder bars on the back too, then there's the tires and rims that will be needed and the final piece to the puzzle to turn those new tires... an engine, cool.:D

At least you have your priorities straight. :D

You must have forgot about the burning rubber part. You got to change the gear ratios to keep your bottom end torque.

Remeber to save some room in the budget for ur turbo and DP;) .

Why r u gonna do all this? Those front end lifts make noise, just to let u know, my buddies clicks and groans and it was a $2600.00 kit

Didn't forget, truck tops out at 96 MPH with the 4.10's already, dunno what it will work out to with 33-35" rubber but we'll see.

I have a pro-comp kit in my 95 (probably going to nickg this weekend) and it has never given me an ounce of trouble with a great ride.

Don't worry about the budget, i have some left for you too but will likely need the stuff by 2 mondays from now as thats when i scheduled to put in the engine. Stuff is ordered including ladder bars and triple shock set-up. :) :ro)

What lift are you going with for this truck? I am pretty sure that I am gong with a Tuff Country.

Tell us about the engine.

I called DAS today, its all there but they want the guy that tore it down to finish it up, he's back on monday. They have to put in a mechanical pump to run it on the test bench to make sure all is ok and then put my pump back in. Should be outta there next wednesday if all is well.

I actually asked him if they were going to send me my engine back, he didn't appear to like that question but i needed to know or else i might have been calling JK. Once again it'll have rebuilt heads, new crank, balanced rotating assembly, splayed mains, 18:1's, gear set....and the list goes on...

Pro-comp.

With all the bells and whistles about 5 G's installed with taxes. If i just did the 6" lift only it would be $3100 installed.

Why not an SAS, you can get it for same money no issues...I think North Shore Off Road does them here on the coast.

Need the flames coming out the stacks. Yea, you got a neat avatar. Problem with stacks is most don't get the smoke billowing out with authority. Wonder if you could put a booster fan blower in the stacks base and when you punched it the blower would kick in and really throw the smoke straight up. Most stacks are to large in diameter and thus loose the velocity to throw it out. A blower pulling in fresh air would also create more flames with a flamethrower kit. Hmmmm? More add on in the works???

Shouldn't top out at 96 w/4:10's. My '93 has 4:10's an on stock rubber it will run over 100, with the 285's (which figure out to be around 33" according to the manufacturer) I have no idea how fast it will go... The taller tires do make it doggier though.

I have 3.73 in my 98 and I top out at 100 MPH with 245's or my 285's, no difference. IT PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!! Truck has so much more too.

I thought that these trucks were all governed at 96MPH or so???

Oh and I like the SAS idea. 5k is ALOT of money to spend on something that will wreck your truck:badidea:

Good old stock ECM programing will always limit speed. I know that Heaths reflash doesn't...

114 mph by GPS is my best so far, need some open road and a smidge more fuel ):h

CanadianRigger
02-02-2006, 07:47 AM
My top out is 96 MPH, verified by scanner and GPS, 3450 RPM, reflashed or not thats the safe RPM to run. Once its appropriately broke in we may tweak the flash to 4000 rpm.

Why not an SAS, you can get it for same money no issues...I think North Shore Off Road does them here on the coast.

Becuse the lift shop is 10 minutes from my house, i've used pro comp before and been very happy with it as nickg will be also.:D

Why do you think it will wreck your truck? I have well over 200,000 km's on the 95 lift kit and only replaced some front end parts (ball joints, idler arm etc) in the last 20k, the truck itself and those parts had near 337,000 km's on it when those were done.... I think i got my money's worth. These are not mere hiway miles, they're oilpatch miles. :)

I was told the same thing about the body lift kit that I installed in my Ford "It's going to destroy your truck". I installed that kit 6 years ago. Never a problem. It seems to me these doomsdayer comments are made by those who haven't seen the product properly installed.
