: New to Diesel...

I guess this is the place to introduce myself. Hello, my name is Scott, etc., etc. I have joined this forum to become more acquainted with diesel since I am also going to start producing my own here in the short future. As of yet I do not own a diesel. Quite frankly, I do not need one as I really have nothing to tow other than my duck boat of which does not need the torque of a diesel. Rather, my intentions as previously stated are to start making BioDiesel to start weening myself and family from the ever so dependent foreign oil. So, with that said I will be browsing the forums looking for any related topics before posting any questions. FL Native

Welcome

If you buy used, even a few years old, Bio diesel can plug a FF fast. I run it mixed with the DinoD. I watch the FP gauge and change the filter when needed. It is MUCH cleaner.

Though I've had a problem with people following too close near meal times ):h

Well, since I'm new I gotta ask..what is "FF" and "FP" gauge. Are you using BioDiesel or Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO. I have read that when good Biodiesel is made, there is no smell and can be run through a diesel at 100% with no Dino Fuel.

FF = fuel filter
FP gauge = fuel pressure gauge

WVO would require another Heated fuel tank with switching unit and start up and shutdown on Dino or Bio Diesel.

EDIT: There really is no smell when you are pouring it in that I can tell. The guy at the gas station claims he can tell the difference. We have no self serve in Oregon. When burned I have had people follow me that claim they could smell something, they claimed it was french fry smell. The BioDiesel I get is from a retail outlet. From what I can tell it is high quality
