: Juice/Attitude Backdown?

Today while getting onto the freeway and racing a BMW up the on ramp the Juice/Attitude backed down 23% on the 2-3 shift. This is the first time it has happened. Is this common or are my transmission clutches wearing out?

Thanks,

I can't help you on this because I do not have the J/A.

What I do want to know; Did you get spanked like a red headed step child?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif 23% sounds like you are having issues, But I do not know!

CMDMAX,

I've been wondering about this too. I see backdown (but no felt defueling like when my transmission was stock) on mine even with a built transmission. I'm thinking it's one or more of a combination of things. Either it has to backdown under heavy throttle to give the transmission time to shift, or it is backing down when hitting the RPM limiter between shifts, or backing down if hitting the preset levels for EGT backdown if turned on. I guess the best way to find out is to call and talk to one of the techs at Edge and ask them. Maybe I'll do that.

From what I understand that backdown % is only showing you the backdown because of EGT. It actually backs down a little bit as you approach the predetermined EGT so it appears like it isn't getting close but in reality it is. Try increasing your EGT cut off and see if that helps. What temperature is it set at now?

Actually I beat the BMW. I was pulling on him until the truck slowed due to the backdown. However, once it went back to normal I left him in the dust. LOL

I checked the EGT record on the Attitude and it showed 1320. The max is set at 1350 I believe. Max Power you may be correct about the EGT setting causing the backdown. Thanks!!!!Edited by: CMDMAX

I think it's EGT's too. Same thing has happened to me. Remember to hit the enter button twice quickly when in display mode, and from there you can disable backdown for a predetermined amount of time.

rickles yours will back down depending on where you have your EGT set. I have one of the first ones too. My serial # is 00000016 http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif The olde versions don't have the record keeping ability
