Just wondering what you guys think of the ride of your new body style dually compared to your other ones. I had a guy tell me that the new ones are the worst riding of all the duallies made. Of course I call BS. But I don't own one.

My 03 rides about the same as my 93 did.
Not much has changed in the design dept except for maybe the spring rates.
The front is still a ifs and the rear is the same as the last 100 years.
I think tire inflation pressures have a Big influence in the ride quality.
Personally I keep the front tires aired up to max to carry the weight of the diesel engine and of the snow plow I might have on.
But for the rears I usually keep them aired down some, about 50 psi or so, it makes the rear a lot better riding. But I don't carry much weight in the rear either, if I did then I would just air them back up.

a dually will always have a stiffer ride because of the rear tires but when you add weight to them they are the best pulling smoothest trucks you can buy. have you guys ever rode in a cab and chassis and you will get beat to death in it but as soon as you put a nice flatbed and tools compresor hoist and misc. stuff you have a nice smoth riding work truck

i was just wondering if it was the same or different than previous duallies though. i think they all ride rough without weight on the back.

I had a 96 Big Block Crew Cab dooley SLT, traded it for an 01 duramax Crew Cab Dooley SLT. I thought the 01 rode way better. The 05 duramax Crew Cab dooley rides the sameat the 01.

My 03 rides much better than my 89, but then the 89 had a solid front axle. The ride from the rear is about the same, weight helps and 50 psi helps when empty.

I had a 90 crew cab 2WD - 454. I thought it rode better than my 2004. It did have new springs all around and my new one is a 4WD.
One thing I have noticed is the frame on the 2004 is much stiffer. I have a pickup camper and I would notice the cabover bobbing up & down while driving down the road. This was the frame flexing between the cab and box. The 2004 doesn't flex at all.

I had a '94 Chevy dually and a pot hole would knock your teeth out. My '01 is much better, but it does not ride like a car by any stretch of the imagination. I will say that I liked the cab on the 94 better, and I think it was more comfortable as far as leg room and seat comfort. Ride, no comparison...the '01 hands down better.
