Traveling down the freeway at 70 MPH the truck has a sudden loss of power, SES light comes on....... Immediately look in the rear view mirror for some white or blue smoke, nothin.....

The pedal is mushy and the truck won't accelerate, losing speed.....

Exit the freeway and come to a stop, hop out and check for diesel fuel under the truck, nothin....

Drive off and the truck accelerates thru 1st gear, shifts to second and accelerates slower and holding at 25 MPH not accelerating now, barely holding speed......

Check guages, all are normal....

Going up a moderate grade, losing speed still in second. Reach top of the hill, car accelerates slightlity and shifts to third, accelerates slowly, then shifts to 4th, then fifth..... The pedal is still mushy and non-responsive..... feels like the trans is slipping

Get home (5 miles from home when this happened). Stop truck, turn off ignition. Start truck again, SES lights still there.

Fuel filter changes 5,000 miles ago, no power adders ever, no secondary fuel filter. Truck has 60,000 miles on it.

NBSU changed at 25,000 miles, truck goes into all gears, including reverse (backed up truck just to make sure).

Am I looking at injectors?

This hurts, having to tow it to the dealer on Monday.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

Try a fuel filter to be sure. It only takes one tank of crap to instantly clog your fuel filter.

Update,

Fuel filter changed, took longer to find a store that had the filter than it did to change it. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif

All is normal, SES light went out.......

Thanks all for the help.

No trip to the dealer necessary....

Might have been overboost code. A common problem with 01s. I would either try and hook up with someone close that has a predator or quad or bullydog to see what the code was. Or take it to the dealer and let them scan it to read the code.

If your fuel filter plugged solid in 5k miles you need to find a different gas station to fill up at.
