Ok now that the TPW has gone by and I haven't heard nothing from the $tealer or Howard. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif God this is worse then having a son or daughter at least when you bring your wife in to the hospital you know he or she will be here soon. The stress of this new truck S**t is killing me. So far as it stands now I lost the 0% for 5years and don't know when shes coming. Does this happen all the time? What do I do at this point? Do I just sit back and wait, do I cancel. I am really upset over this

Hang on. It happens alot. They are doing much better than those of us who ordered in the early years. Ordered mine 7/26/01 and took delivery 4/5/02. Early TPW's were canceled, pushed back, etc. Don't worry, it'll come. It'll also be worth the wait. When did you order?

On edit: I just read your sig. I know it seems a long while, but it WILL get here! Edited by: YZF1R

Check this thread and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about:

http://dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5257&PN=1

Then call your dealer and tell him you want to know where your truck is at. If he can't help you, tell him you want to talk to the zone rep.

Hope this helps....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Isn't the 0% financing going through the end of the month (3-31-04)?

I called my dealer this week, and as you know Leatherman we have the same TPW, he said everything was on track but thats all he could tell me. So hang in there, it shouldn't be too much longer. Im just using my waiting time to make sure which lift to put on. Im planning on lifting it as soon as it comes in, like the same day. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Im going to do it anyway, so no reason to wait.

I'm hanging in there it just seems so long http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif I called my dealer to on Thursday and all he told me was it's being built this week and could be built already. My old 88 Suburban is on it's last leg. Pulling a 10'000 trailer with a 5.7 killed it. Been doing that for 3 years and it's done. I need to brake this new one before April 18. I don't want to put the trailer on it until I brake it in.

I'm sitting and waiting, too.
Ordered 1/23/04 , TPW 3/8/04

No word yet from my dealer. Last information I have is Howard emailed me Tuesday March 9 saying that I had been put on the list on Friday.
I, too, am concerned about the incentives set to expire March 31, although my dealer has previously said all we need is a VIN to do the transaction with the incentives before I actually pick up my truck. He assured me that if needed he'll get the VIN number ASAP to beat the incentives deadline.
I ordered a 2500HD Silverado LT - Duramax, Allison, CC, Short bed.

It's true that all you need is the VIN to close the deal if your dealer will do it for you.

We closed the deal on my truck before it arrived due to a local car show related incentive that was going to expire before my truck got here.

As far as the incentives from the General, there's been some disscussion on another thread that the incentives have changed but no changes on the GM web sites have shown up so far. You may want to touch bases with your dealer about that and closing as soon as a VIN is available...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Well that's not good for those who wanted that option. I ran the numbers for total finance costs if I took the zero percent from GM, or took the rebates and got my own financing. I was able to get a really good rate from either one of my credit unions, or surprise, even my bank was really competitive on auto loan rates. Much better than the dealer was telling me I could get through in house dealer finance services.

What I found out is that the total cost is less if I took the rebates, plus if I sell the truck before it's paid off which is a possibility, I still get the full benefit of the rebate. You'd lose that with the zero percent financing if the truck is sold before it's paid off.

You might want to run the numbers for your anticipated loan length with outside finance and rebates versus the GMAC low rates and no rebates.Edited by: Zeeb

Big disappointment here.
I just heard from my dealer who said that even though my original TPW was 3/8, it has now been changed to 4/5.
He says it must have been a supplier problem.
It looks like I just lost out on a $3,500 cash back bonus that was to expire on March 31.
Needless to say I am not at all happy.

I went to see me salesman today and nothing. No vin # nothing!!!! He just keeps telling me DON'T SWEAT IT.Then I see that on Friday they had a transmission problem but that had nothing to do with the Allison. So now I'm going to sit it out nothing left to do. Not sure if this site has helped me or made things worse. lol I have to say this has been the longest 7weeks. When I ordered my bike that took 3 months and it didn't seem this bad. All tho I was highly medicated http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif in those days, thank god those days are over http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gifEdited by: Leatherman

Zeeb,
Well, I am sweating it. I ordered my CC SB D/A 4x4 on 1/23/04 (almost a week before Leatherman) and got a TPW originally of 3/8 and now has been moved to 4/5. I am more than a little ticked off that I seem to have missed out on a chance for a $3,250 rebate because I will miss the March 31 deadline. I don't know why my luck is so bad.Edited by: rvtrailerpuller

rv,

Maybe I'm just a little on the cynical side, but I'd ask for the VOMS printout on yours. It's going to show every date that somethings happened. If your TPW was changed, it won't show the original date now, but it will show the order date, acceptance date and preference date.

At least you'll know the dealer ordered it when he said he did, and you'll know the TPW is going to be that late.

It's entirely possible everything is on the up and up, I had my last 1 ton go five months due to supplier shortages. If you've dealt with this dealership before and have confidence in them, it's probably not worth the ill will you'll create by getting irate with them. But if that's not the case, considering what's at stake, I'd want to see that computer printout.

On another note, when I ordered mine there was an incentive in place that my order should have made, it didn't. But GM renewed it after that one expired. So even though sales are picking up, I suspect you'll see some sort of rebate program come out after this one expires.

Good luck....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Up.gif

Here's a "cheer you up story".

I ordered and there was a $2500 rebate. I knew the rebate would expire by the time I took delivery, but I also knew that there would be another rebate by the time I took delivery. I didn't know how much the rebate would be in the future. When I took delivery, there was not only the $2500 rebate, but an additional $750 rebate for a total of $3250. By then I also got a GM in the driveway certificate for the new expiration period. The certificate saved me an additional several hundred from what I previously negotiated w/ the dealer (make sure the dealer accepts this certificate FIRST).

In all, I saved $1000+ more than when I ordered.

Thanks, Zeeb and mbeckwith, for your words of encouragement.

I guess I'll just sit and bide my time. I trust my dealer. I just paid him a visit and found that 2 other trucks that had originally a 3/8 TPW through them had been re-scheduled for a later date. I do not think that any dealer screw-up happened.

Since some kind of unfortunate (at first glance) delay once happened to you, Zeeb and mbeckwith, and since at least these other two unfortunate souls ordering through my dealer are also affected by this delay I should just feel "one of the club".

I do not feel I am getting any kind of "run-around". Even the famous Howard had originally confirmed that my TPW was right on schedule and that my truck had been put on some kind of "list". Perhaps this is what you meant, Zeeb, referring to the VOMS code 3300.

In one of Zeeb's pevious posts, "EVENT CODES For Tracking New Truck Orders" you say:
"3300 Scheduled for Production -- This one will get your heart started, but don't count on it yet. This will normally show up first a few days prior to the TPW and will have an end date the same day as the 3400 code is effective, but the TPW could still be delayed by GM."

Anyway, thanks again you guys for your encouragement!

I ordered in early Jan. of this year.

Just found out prod. week has been pushed back yet again, this time to Mar. 29.

On another forum I read there was a production problem centered around the split rear window option. Split rear window required deep tint glass and trailer towing option which requires ..... About an hour ago I told my dealer to drop the window if required, but my guess is I am at code 3100, so there can be no changes. GRRRRR. The rebates are set to disappear during my production week.

rvtrailerpuller

I also had the sliding rear window option.
This may also explain my delay.

Frank_EP
03-17-2004, 08:42 PM
A few minutes back I confirmed that my VOMS code has been pushed back to 3000. This is consistent with the idea that something is halting production -- at least as I understand it. Under normal scheduling my truck should have been produced at least 12 days ago.

Zeeb
03-17-2004, 08:55 PM
Well you should be able to change the rear window thing, but right now it will probably set your TPW back some. Question is, will it get built sooner if you leave it alone, or will it get delayed again?

Might want to do some more digging and find out if it's the window thing and if there are any projected dates, or build without it and go aftermarket, or wait until one can be obtained from your dealer down the road.

Just a thought....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

I would drop my sliding rear window option and just have an aftermarket one installed if I thought that would help get me a VIN before the March 31 incentive deadline. But at this late date I am not sure if making a change would actually accomplish that. It could be that with this incentive deadline I gambled and lost.

Well, I guess I can at least hope for some April incentives from Chevrolet/GM.
