I've got a problem with my Allison, and would appreciate any suggestions you might have for a good shop in the DFW area.

Thanks

what kind of problem...? have you been running chips? Call Suncoast (www.suncoastconverters.com) and they can refer you to a good Ally shop in your area...

The only shop that I can think of is Stewart & Stevenson

Thanks guys. I experirienced a heavy vibration from about 45-50 miles per when I pulled out of a jobsite on Thursday. It went away when I got on the highway and I figured I'd just thrown a tire weight or something. Got home and didn't think much about it, but there was ATF on the ground in the morning. Took it to the local shop I use, and they don't feel like they've got the right expertise to treat me right on this deal.

They suggested a Transmission shop, but the song and dance I'm getting from them is clear as mud and I'm hoping to get a better shop.

Are you under warantee? If not, Dealer repair can cost I believe several thousand if broke bad enough, and you still have a stock tranny that can't hold too much extra power. You may be able to get an up-graded tranny for not much more than a Dealer rebuild. Get Dealer estimates first and compare to up-grades.
There are Guy's here that might be able to help.
