I'm about to order a boost stick and egr blocker plate. The question is do I need to or have to install a fingers stick to make the setup work correctly and not cause any problems? Thanks for the replies.

You will get codes if you just install the blocker plate but if they don't set the check engine light it won't really matter.

Next question would be: Should we leave the EGR plugged IN or UNplug it? I am in the same situation. I have an FE9 truck and get codes, but no light with the EGR unplugged.
