Solid front axles in 4x4 If you want a nice ride thats what they make cars for. Floor vents and wing windows so some freash are can get in. Put gutter back on the roof I hate snow or rain dripping on your arm. Real tires why should you have to replace tires on a new truck. You can get fords and dodges with big tires. A real bench seat so you can sit 3 people with out 3rd guy sitting on little seat in middle. Why are the cup holders in between the middle guys legs? center seat don't fold so you can put Storage behind seat.

Last why can you only a 3500 HD in 2WD but I think they drop that now too. You can a Ford in a F 450 superduty

Well then go buy a F**d and stop bitching. I love my truck and would not drive anything else. Well except for a Porsche.

I'm pretty sure you can get a 3500 in a 4wd now that they have the single wheel 3500 out. I priced one out at the dealer a couple weeks ago so actually I'm possitive.

I do wish they made solid front axels still though, nothing to do with the ride but they only cost about 1/4 as much to lift.

Sunvisors that actually block the sun(front & side) and a flat floor on the passenger side. Oh, and seats that can be adjusted back far enough that my knees don't ache after three hours of driving(I'm only 5'9"), and seatbacks that recline....all the way. And another thing, mirrors that actually show you what's behind you. Other than that, don't change nothin'.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

P.S. I liked the extra lighting mentioned above....add that back.

Can't you just take the stops out of the seat to make it recline all the way? I've heard of this but never actually seen it. I'm going to do more research on it when I get my next truck. Current truck is a leaser so I don't care about this one http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

All those great little lights that used to be on our trucks. Vent Windows, Drip Mouldings, Fold Down Seat Back on Extended Cab,

Seatbacks that recline all the way? I thought the goverment made auto manufactures stop that to keep the population down.http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big%20Smile.gif

I don't think self-starters are really necessary. A number of boat diesels have hand cranks and by engaging a compression release and swinging that sucker with all your might you can start it most of the time. Course, if you don't time it just right, it can kick back and break your arm, but real men don't worry about things like that. I'm not sure turbo chargers are all that great, either, they add complexity, just like electronic engine controls. And bucket seats are wimpy and leather doesn't belong on a truck. Seats should be firm benches and covered in plastic like God intended. I don't like automatic transmissions, either and anything over three forward speeds is just yuppie posturing. And roll up windows were good enough for my Dad, they're good enough for me, and don't get me started on that pansy-ass airconditioning and FM radio....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Tsckey,

I sure do hate it for you. I appreciate the simpler life of the 50's or 60's too but when I drive my newer trucks and cars, cell phones, and cpu's, I sure would hate to go back.

Duallyvette,

I was kidding. Give me high tech any day. I love my truck and all its complicated systems more than any vehicle I've ever owned including a rare, old Porsche, which, if I still had it I could finance my kids' college education.

I`ll start with the solid front axle; I agree with you on that, they could do like Ford and Dodge, have that on the real trucks and leave the IFS on the 1/2 tons.

Wing windows; Bad idea, they are whistlers from the first time they are used.

Gutters; They have them now, they are just not as good. but look at the bright side the are arrow dynamichttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

You have got to be all legs; I am 6' 3" with an 36" inseam, and I don`t have any problems with how far the seat goes back.

Just a thought; Could your legs be hurting from dangleing off the floorhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Just kiddin`

How about windshield wipers that you can actually flip out of the way when cleaning it. My 98 1/2 ton had those, why doesn't my new 2500HD have them?

Not all legs just big feet. And you know what they say about guys with big feet......................big shoes. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

However my wife is really short 5'3" and her feet dangle, very hard on the thighs....so how about seats that adjust lower?
