I started my truck and the alert for egt's was beeping and showing 2147 degrees and wouldnt go away. I had to shut off the alerts to drive the truck.


Man I knew my luck would change with this thing and here it comes.

Maybe your pyrometer is shorted out? Disconnect the pyro probe and see what happens.

Ground the pyro wire. I had (have) a faulty pyro wire which when the s/s cable of the wire isn't grounded, it shows freaky temps. Ground it (zip tie it to a crossmember), and it's fine. I have a backup pyro, for when I decide to change it out, but for now it works fine as long as it's grounded...
