Had my juice/attitude for about a week now, and before I get to my griping, the first thing I gotta say is......Holy S--t!! When it works it's awesome. I had been reading your posts for some time, but didn't realize how much power these duramaxes had in 'em until I felt it myself. Now on to my bitchin':

1. The first juice box I got did not work. Plugged it in, went for a ride and as soon as I hit it, it died (see previous post "Juice makes it die"). Apparently this sometimes happens, got a new box and wow!

2. Been driving for a week no problems, running on 4/4, not playing too much, but really starting to like stop signs.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif Then two nights ago, the EGT started to trip out on me a little bit, reading good for the most part, then dropping to 65, then back to normal, then down to 117 or so, etc. It's been getting worse every day. Apparently this sometimes happens (see previous post "Attitude showing crazy EGT"). I am getting a new Pyro probe this weekend, should fix the problem.

Heres my gripe: Spend $$ to upgrade, expect $$ to buy product that works. Have spent much time going back and forth to shop to get things fixed, when it should work right in the first place. It is obvious that the juice/attitude is awesome when working, and I have to say that their customer service has been superb, but the more I think about it the more it chaps my hide that the product these guys are putting out could be better quality controlled. The one thing that made me hesitant on buying this thing in the first place is all the posts I read about this problem or that. I figured I might get one with a problem, but two in a row? It is starting to make me wonder just exactly how they're producing these things? I don't think it's too much to ask that what we spend our good ol' hard earned American dollar on actually works as advertised. Not that any of this will make me give it up, no way, just wanted to vent a little.

So is there something I'm missing here? Is this something I should expect and accept? Let me have it, I'm listening.

BTW, I know I have at least one supporter out there. Problem Child, where are you........

I think for the most part the Edge is quality built product. But as with anything there are going to be problems. It sucks that you have had two problems, but I'm sure the percentage of people who have bought these and have had problems is very low or they would have a very bad rep. on this forum.

I have heard of these things freezing up and the egts wacking out a couple times on this forum. I guess all you can do is hope that Edge continues to stand behind their product and learns from any mistakes that they make to have a better product.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif Well said HD,

I have been a "guiena pig" for too many years. Ruined motors because parts did not perform as advertised. Sent trannys back and rebuilt engines because of poor workmanship. It can be very frustrating in the quest for speed. Unfortunately its norm for the drag race game. Now it appears to be the same in the diesels.

We can only hope these websites will assist in our choosing a quality product.

Ha...

I havent had any problems with my juice. I am worried I will fry the clutches though. Heres my take on it. I think OEM's dont do the testing they used too. Its too expensive. So now days they just build and ship and let the customer be the guinea pig.

P-Child;

It's called beta testing and a lot of suppliers use customers for that purpose these days.

I like my H/J but it has gone back THREE TIMES. due to poor quality. Also, it is spinnin H**l out of my clutch. Don't know what I can do about it.

Yeah I don't know about any Hipo clutch for the ZF6. I have wondered how well it speed shifts also. I had a 5-speed chevy truck years ago that was impossible to speed shift because of the long "shifter movement".

Makes one wonder if the HJ ZF6 version has problems. I have had no problems with the HotJuice for a full year now.

The shifting is not great but the clutch slippage is crazy and the pedal gets hard. I am still waiting for the dealer to call with the tranny cooler. They think this will solve the problem http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

I want to say again that Edge has been fantastic in the customer service department, and that really goes a long way with me, as I'm sure it does with a lot of you too. It tells me that no matter how many problems I have they will be there to fix them or at least help me out. I know eventually my troubles will be in the past, and I will be happy with the end product.

Deadeye, beta testing would be fine with me had I known before hand I would be doing it! Three times returning the same product is ridiculous.

The other thing I really wanted to say but was hesitant at first, due to some obvious bad blood on this forum, was that I haven't read of one person on this forum who sent back a Banks made product, at least not for poor quality anyway. Just didn't want to go there again, but it had to be said. Basically, I should expect the same quality from any of these manufacturers.

After all this, I'm still sticking with my juice, just too much fun. Maybe that's how they get away with it, make the product so irresistable you just gotta have it, no matter the issues. Like somebody on this forum once said, "They'll have to pry the juice box from my cold dead hands....."

I agree with wanting a good product. Edge ought to cover the cost for shipping it, round trip.
