I was just wondering if there is anywhere in the interior that accessable while sitting in the drivers seat that would be a good spot to carry my consealed weapon? The console is slightly too small, and I don't want to put it under the seat too bad due to the chance it might come loose and while braking slide under the pedal.

Anyone have any neat places??

I have my glock .45 in its holster w/ extra clip btw. the seat belt buckle and console on the drivers side. Then I have my .50 DE (Nickle Plated);) in a custom made foam insert on the rear seat where the seat folds down and cup holders use to be. I have a crew cab if your wondering!

I keep my 4" barrel Colt tropper 357 under the cupholder in the center console. The cup holders pull out and there is enough room for my revolver. Not sure if thats what you were talking about when you said the console is too small.

You just have to pay her more for that kind of info.

Hey Moscow, what kind of concealed weapon do you carry??

The super secret spot that I keep my (licensed) carry weapon (SIG 229)in is my Milk Sparks Versa MaxII IWB rig, ON MY SIDE! This is the ONLY way that you can ensure BOTH security and access.

My Kahr PM40 in the holster fits easily in the console, makes for an easy draw as well.

I've always preferred to carry my pistols in a holster vertical between the seat and console just forward of the seatbelt buckle. Pretty inconspicuous, it's a very familiar motion to the grip, and offers a seamless continuous move from the belt to the pistol if unbuckling and drawing.

If you have buckets, the cupholder infront of the console pops out and makes a good hiding place...

Everyone who is hideing there guns under the console, under this, under that is dead when the going gets tuff and you have less than a blink to act.:badidea:

There is no perfict answer, but in your holster is the best place; incase you have to exit your truck quickly, at least you still have your weapon. Inbetween the seat and console or laying on the console/cup holder is very quick accessability. I'm left handed, so the dr. door pocket is good for me, if it is not on me (where it normally is).

Where ever you put it, practice drawing it to make sure it is a natural reaction and not a thought.

Nope looks like he is asking for a good accessable spot while driving.

WOW! carjacking must be a bigger problem then I thought or are you all just hunting deer driving down the highway? :snipersmi Maybe I better get to work on my James Bond smoke screen button and passenger seat eject button a little sooner then scheduled. I'm not againt carrying firearms..Hell in my line of work it's job security! But in all my years of paramedicine - any shooting I've been on that wasn't done by a criminal ie. citizen carrying a gun - was self inflicted accidentally and has never been a self defense shooting. Does that just mean criminals get better training? :D

I ALSO carry a fire extinguisher. Never know when the SHTF either way.

Better to have it and never need it than NEED it and not have it!

I tend to wedge it between my console and the drivers seat. Not really concealed but my hand can comfortable rest on it as I drive. Only the hand grip will be visible.

That would be alright, but my Mini 14 fits perfectly in between the seat and console. It doesn't rattle loose no matter how bumpy the field is when chasing that d**n coyote.

Glock 40 lives on my belt until I get into the truck, at which point it comes out and lays in the tray on the center console lid. Don't like the idea of wedging it between the seat and the console. I've thought about attaching some velcro straps onto the side of the console or the bottom of the dash so I could strap it in there and make it a little more secure while still easily accessible, but haven't done this yet. Suppose a guy could get an extra holster, use a couple screws, and mount it just about anywhere.

BTW: Old Ruger .22 mag single-six hog leg (9" barrel) lives under the back seat in a soft case. I leave the zipper open enough so I can grab it quick from the driver's seat if I need to reach out and touch a varmit from long-range... Thing shoots like a rifle!

This is Crazy!! Is it legal to pack heat in the states!?? Or what is the reason for carrying hand guns!?:ro) In Canada i know you cant even have you Hunting Rifle in the truck unless its locked up...

Not sure what type of gun you have and what size it is. I have a small 380 and it is in the bottom of my console with a map to cover it and is easy to get to

The Regs vary from state to state. In Colorado, if you keep it hidden on your person, you must carry a concealed carry permit. It is legal to have a gun in the truck, but I think technically it is supposed to be unloaded if you don't have a concealed carry permit. When the cop pulls you over for speeding, politely inform him of what you have and where it is at and it is not concealed. I carry a rifle with me because I have to check on livestock in some pretty remote pastures. I always have at least my revolver with me in its holster when I am guiding in the mountains and often times a rifle in the scabbard. It is always nice to have in case of emergency. (bears, coyotes, dying horses, dumba$$ hunters that can't hit what they are aiming for, etc.)

Thanks for all the great reply's. I have a Ruger GP100 .357. In my old pickup it would fit in the console and i did try to pull out the cup holders but not very hard (didn't want to break anything) I would just like a spot to put it that can't be seen when I am out of the rig and don't want to carry on person. In Washington you don't need to inform the cop you have a consealed carry if you don't want to and by seeing the grip of the gun sticking out of the seat might give him some bad ideas about me...(i need every chance I can get to try to weasel out of a ticket)

Thanks again to all that replied!

Most states require a permit which can be a lengthy and costly process. Some states say that your vehicle is "an extension of your home" so its legal there provided its not concealed. Every state is different. Here our concealed pistol permit takes up to 6 months to precess and over 100 bucks. Federal law, recently passed, HR-218 says that any police officer, state, local, county, city, federal, can carry legally anytime anywhere in the U.S. across state lines. This applies to retirees as well.

First of all, I don't know if you shoot right or left handed. If you are a left handed shooter, you are in a bad position if you are accosted from the drivers side. You must really be prepared. I shoot right handed and when I travel I carry my pistol in a Galco shoulder rig which allows me to draw easily on anyone threatening me when I am in a seated position. Even though I carry a full size auto (HK USP45). I still have no problem getting in a defensive posture.
You have to be careful with firearm laws, as they very state to state. There is a peaceable journey law which allows you to transport firearms from "certain" states to another state, but you need to check. Most contiguous Southeastern states are gun friendly and no problamo. If you are not a felon, I would suggest getting a Florida Conceal Carry Permit. You do not need to be a resident, it costs you 117.00 and you need to be fingerprinted, but if issued you can carry in approx 32 states, give or take a few. You also need a certificate of training. If you take this seriously like I do you will prepare yourself. It is useless to HIDE a weapon. What are you hiding it for? from? If you cannot gain access to your weapon within a thought; You are in a world of ****. Be safe
