Hi,

I would like to get the best thermocouple for measuring the pre-turbo exhaust temp, but it is hard to figure out just what that is. Not to mention from whom and for how much! If you can toss a suggestion for a part number and why it is the "best", please help out. Also, as I want to BUY one, contact information would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't want to post $$, please PM me. This will really help! Thanks a lot guys!

I've been running an Isspro setup that I bought from Kennedy Diesel for over a year now. I've upgraded to an Edge Juice, so as soon as I get some decent weather I'll be putting the Edge pyro in the driver's manifold for comparison.

I have an autometer competition probe and it goes up almost as fast as the boost gauge.

Low mass I beleve is the key. I run the same probe and have posted it being almost as responsive as those used in turbine engines. If your looking for peak numbers and not an average then this is the one you want, mounted ALA Hoot as well. (in the passenger manifold).

Thanks, Yes, I guess peak temperature is the most important thing. I'll give Greg at TST a shout.

I'm running the original one that came with my SPA DG211. At one point i thought it went bad. Still going strong. Had it out once and looked like new still. Probably has 50,000 miles on it. I don't know who makes it. Not even SPA knows anymore. It's just a straight 1/8" probe.

I agree with hoot my SPA probe is very quick....

Trust me. while the probe that SPA uses is of first rate quality I'm sure, the probe that TST selected responds much quicker. I've run both.

Now that's hard to say cause SPA can't tell you what probe we have. I called them and had no less than 3 replacement probes sent to me... none of which match the original.

I've got probes for sale!

I like the autometer Comp. its open-tip and does respond very quick. much faster than my previous closed-tip.

OK Hoot you got me, I should have posted disclaimers, your mileage may vary etc. Anyway TST's is much faster than the one SPA supplied me. Some people know who manufactured TST's, I don't. John will you tell us?
