Glow plug failure?


I am looking for anyone who has had glow plug problems on the 1982 6.2L


In an email please describe the problems you have had. I also question if there was ever hard winter starts, starters burning out or a need to use ether to start on occasion?


Especailly any persons who have rewired to manually cycle the glow plugs to prevent or limit their failure.

Uhm, every 6.2L owner has had glow plug problems.


I have done all the above. I have a set of AC 60G's in now that are not suppose to ever burn up. The factory cycle time is not long enough, so you need a push button, or you can get a timer from penninsular diesel that will automate it again for you.


Upgrade to a '86 and newer system, and you will have less problems, but there is no cure.
