Wow. When I'm on the highway with my plow and 1000Lbs in the back, I don't even come close to that. Could it be that the winch is blocking that much air flow? I'm planning a Ranch Hand and winch when funds allow. Hope I don't run into any problems.

I've seen 250+ degrees a couple times but that's anouther story in itself ... Not your ordinary situation .... So ya I've seen one overheat ... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

But in your case 195 is well within the operating temp ... At 60 degrees idling in traffic stop and go it isn't uncomman for the tranny temp to aproach engine coolant temps ....

If your winch is blocking air traval then I guess you will have to address that ...

My guess would be on a dyno. You need to have someone stand in front of your truck and blow in the radiator.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

They will get hot quickly in stop and go traffic, I have heard second hand that Allison engineers said they can run all day at 200 degrees just fine.
