I have the Banks Six Gun/ Speed Loader installed in my 2003 D/A. I want to know the best programmer to reset speed limiter, tire size, and also read and resetDTC codes. I see Crane cams has a new one also for the Duramax. I need manufacture and model numbers

I have a power pup programer in my 04 and calibrated for bigger tires,removed the speed limiter and can read & clear codes,I also have it set on the 95 HP setting and really like the way the truck runs now.


I install the programer about a mount ago and had no problems so far,it puts out very little smoke at full throttle and the MPG`s has gone up about 1 to 2,that is when I`m not on it.


I`m also planing on installing the six gun,exhaust and the big head from Banks.





The programer is made by bully dog and got it at 4 wheel parts in El Cajon ca.

wberg, I've had the Predator for about a year now. Does a great job of calibrating, raising speed limiter, reading/clearing codes,etc. A little on the pricey side if you are using it solely for that, and not for the performance tunes (which is mostly where the costs are). I read somewhere here Quad is working on something that will do what you want, with out any perf. tunes, and priced accordingly. He was looking for feedback from interested parties to see if it was worthwhile. Try getting ahold of him if you don't want to spring for the Predator or similar priced programmers. I was one of the folks who expressed to him, an interest in Quad's proposed programmer for reading/erasing codes and removing the speed limiter. I requested more information from him and a possible price, but never heard anything else about it.


So I don't know if he's still pursuing that or not. I know he's been working on something he says is totally new, along with LLY tunes, so maybe he's just been too busy to look at anything else.

The Predator can be used on any Duramax for clearing codes. The biggest down fall of the Predator is once it is used to soup up a truck, it can not be used to soup up any other truck, but can be used for live monitoring and clearing codes. Engine only. (Not transmission codes)

wberg, yes the Predator does "VIN Lock" to the truck. Cannot be used on another. Not sure what you mean by reflash of stock settings. You can go back and forth between stock & performance tunes if that is what you are asking. Also, you can stay stock as far as the HP settings, and just do speedo/odo calibrations if you wish.
