: Is this possible, an LLY with an injector problem??

Subject says it all, have an 04 LLY in with 3800 miles, just order two injectors for it. Lack of power, wont build fuel pressure, have excess return flow.. I think there may be more trouble, but have to start with these.

On Edit:

The prices havent come down at all for the LLY injectorshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gifEdited by: dmaxalliTech

I thought they were replacing all 8 injectors now, regardless of how many are bad. Is this not universal yet? Or does it just depend on the problem encountered?

Eric, how quick are they to change? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I think I read they were replacing all 8 injectors only on 2001 - 2004 LB7 diesel engines.

replace all 8 only applies to LB7 like Moe said. Max, not much faster time you get all the crap out of the way, I suppose since its different a little, my old 'habits' will have to be readjusted somewhat on ripping these down. Easier to diagnose as far as getting to stuff now.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Dmaxallitech,

What`s this about changing all 8 injectors ????? Do you mean if there is an injector problem, GM will replace them all under warranty. Is there a TSB # for this ?

TSB On Replaceing All 8 Injectors (http://dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5737&PN=2)

GMCSID, posted the TSB at the link above. Glad GM decided to do this. And hope this will fix the injector problems.

What was the customers complaint when he dropped it off? Was it still running, was he complaining of a lack of power, or something else? Any additional insight you can provide would be great to know.

It will be interesting to see how many LLY's have injector problems. The question to be answered: Did GM/Isuzu really "improve" the Duramax for '04?

I'm disappointed that Eric isn't praising how much easier it is as well. I thought the price was supposed to go down and changing would be easier to make it more of a "user" servicable part.
