Good reading on this forum. I realize this is beyond the scope of most of you truck fellas, being that it is a Yukon xl. I am trying to find out if the deal I am getting from GMC is good or bad. I am having GMC buy back the NEW 2004 YUKON XL 2500 4x4 8.1 (awesome). It wants to wiggle when towing and no way to correct it. The dealer or GMC is offering me to trade vehicles based on MSRP and I pay mileage, ttl. That is about 2,000 bucks to me. Seems a little steep since they produced it this way. They said they wanted to follow the lemon law guide. It seems I would be saving them money by not filing it under lemon law. Then they don't have to stamp it as a lemon. Then they can sell it for more money to the next unsuspecting buyer.
So what I am considering is trading it for a 2004 GMC CC LLY Dually. However, I can not attain even with all the options on it up to the $53,000. I am under by about $2500 so what should happen to that last $2500.
thanks

you should sell lemonaid on the corner to raise the last bit of price. GM is doing good for you if giving you trade that well. bite the bullet and get your Dually

Is the $2500 counting the $2000 u owe for miles?
Maybe u could add dealer options to up the price.
Any way to get a credit at the dealer or knock that off the finaced $$$.

See if you can get a 5year 100K GM Warrantee added on for the difference
How about aftermarket accessories? Most dealers offer them or will arrange for them, you could eat up $2500 in a heartbeat when talking about what's available and wouldn't conflict with warranty stuff. Just a thought. Edited by: Zeeb

More clarification. The $2000 that I owe for milage is not included, so if you did that I guess I would be out approximately 4500 ben franklins. The guy I've been talking to at first said I would have to come out of pocket on any accessories. Then once he realized that the MSRP of the dually would not equal, he was unsure. He of course has not got back to me either. He thought that maybe that is the way it would work. I would add accessories to equal the price.
Does anyone know if the price you could purchase either vehicle for equal in value relative to MSRP. Is the markup the same or do I come out better getting a truck than a YUKON XL or vice versa. little confusing. Trying to figure out the better deal or not.
Thanks,

Our GM discounts are about the same % wise.
I'd wait and see what the stealer has to say first then create your plan of attack.
