well i seem to get p1093 codes like their going out of style but i also get a nc106 code. does any one know what that code means or does? the truck wont rev over 2k rpm's i believe that from the p1093. and also my truck will not rev over 2500 rpms with out falling on its face. when the t/c is locked i can still rev my engine and not gain speed. these are the olnly out of the blue items i can think of.

thanks jay

I have seen some "weird" codes as well on other vehicles that come back as "undocumented" errors, which I suspect this would fall into.

They are probably used for the programmers to help trouble shoot the software, but that is just a guess.

Are there any programmers on this site that could give us any of these "secret" codes?

I did a search for nc106, and ran across this thread on the forum:

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48090

Basically, it says that the "Nc" is a Predator thing, and it is really a U0106 code.

Hope this helps,

Joseph

That's great but what is the U0106 code?

well if it was a P0106 it would be manifold presure MAP . I got those codes also just before my Injector harness went to the happy hunting ground .

No power no speed limped along at about 10 mph then ran fine for about a day did the same thing while waiting for parts.-:t Have the dealer check out
tsb on the injector harness.

U0106 is Glow Plug Controller communication problem. If you have an early production 04 LLY (Dec03-Early April 04) then your GPCM has a yellow paint dot on the top. The yellow paint dot modules have old software that can stop communicating. Take it to the dealer and get the new module.

This Glow Plug Controller looks pretty straight forward as far as installing it myself. The dealer wants $100 for the controller and $85 to install it. Only 1 screw and to cables to install it. Can't see where it should take more than 15-20 minutes to install. I can do that myself but was wondering if this was something I should do or does the dealer have to do some kind of programing or flashing to make the new controller work properly? I know the controller talks to the computer..so just want to be sure I'm not trying something that is more than just a simple swap out. Thanks

WAIT! Before replacing the Module.... check your fuses. I know it sounds dumb but Ive blown that code before and it was a blown fuse underhood. Worth a shot.
