Hey guys. Dont get out of the 6.5 forum much, but my brother has a C4500 4x4 with the Duramax/Allison and was in the market for a exhaust brake.
Anyone have any suggestions or a source for one?
Is it recommended?
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I put an US gear on mine, and made a 4" turbo back exhaust to match.

Any info or links to US gear?
Any drawbacks? Warrenty issues? Long term effects?
Thanks for the reply.

I found the link..looks good.
Now, can anyone tell me pro's and con's to having a exhaust brake on a D/A combo?

I just rewired my US gear brake to use the factory "exhaust brake" switch, now it incorporates the downshifting of the transmission like it should. It will not function at idle, or untill the coolant temp is up. It will shut off around 1000 rpm.
I think it is a cleaner look too.

I have installed a few of the BD engine brakes on these rigs. Comes with all the wiring and the factory switches. Brake works great on these trucks

I seldom use mine even when pulling a load. If he run the brake all the time he will see a drop in MPH do to the fact he has no free wheel time unless he holds his foot on the acc so the brake will no apply. It is each to his own a lot of people think they sound cool and run them all the time.
