i have an 06 and dacided to do some exhaust work. my buddy has an 02 straight pipe with the edge and intake. his truck sounds like a kenworth on steroids. so i decided to start with the straight pipe. mine sounds a little better, but is not close to what i was looking for. and my warranty is void if i do any work in front of the cat, any suggestions?

get an aftermarket front pipe, measure twice cut once, bandclamp it together

it wiil never have the same sound as a 02 due to turbo design but eliminating the cat will up the sound more than anything not to mention make the engine live a long ,happy and somewhat cooler life!!!!

I think he removed the cat and the muffler, but is still looking for more.

My truck is pretty loud. No Cat or muffler.

In my 05, I installed an MBRP 4" frontpipe, and made a flange that would bolt to the flange on the front pipe, I then welded a 4" 45* elbow to the flange, and bolted it up, Truck sounds sweet, and at idle and low load it it still fairly quiet. When you walk on her though she roars, and sounds quite nice. Just tooling around town isnt too bad though. 70 mph on the highway at about 2100 isnt bad either, no excessive noise, and i got rid of my exhaust drone.

i talked to the dealer and if ANY work is done inbetween the cat and the motor, o2 sensor, Say good bye to the ole warranty? can they do that? so what i was asking is what if anything can i do to improve sound? (the loud wistle out the back sounds pretty cool though:cool) but i am looking for more BASS! thank you!
