theres a ticking noise on idle from engine its pretty loud not like a engine knock but it's very annoying any sug's

normal. do a search on it. something to do with engine oil bubbles popping and crackling or some crap.

Turn up the radio. No really - I had the same noise and eventually it went away.

I allways hear the same thing! sounds like a real hot exhaust cooling down except i just started it.. I figured it was normal but was gona ask the same thing. same noise my 4-wheeler makes after runing it real hard at the dunes.

at start up it is the injectors , the will eventually smooth out , if it has low miles give it a while , very common

My truck had same noise for first 10k. Then went away.:)

I got the same noise in my 2005 with 17 000 km's on it. I 'll tell you I can'twait for it to quit.

Here is something I noticed. Mine did it for 7500 miles on the orig oil. I changed it to Valvoline premium blue for 7500 more miles and I had no noise. Changed oil 400 miesl ago to Devalco and the noise is back. I am around 15,500 miles on the truck.

I'm a new member and my '05 has just started making that ticking sound. It sounds sooooooooooooo bad. It drives me nuts.

New member here also. Mine is making the same ticking sound started at about 400mi, it really freaked me out at first because this is my first diesel and a sound like that on a gas engine is not good.. After reading several threads on here though it sounds like it is normal, for whatever reason

btw, this is one of the most helpful and positive forums I've ever been on, great job guys.
