Before I get into this I'd like to thank all the folks on this site. I've been reading for a while and have come across some pretty useful info.
Well, my 02 F250 has 110,000 on the clock now and since its no longer under warrenty I'm about ready to get a new truck. I really like my truck! I've beat the hell out of it and it just keeps on running just fine. I pull a 24' enclosed car hauler with it(about 40k of my 110k have been towing). I've been on this site trying to get info on what to get next cause I'm really not a big fan of the 6.0 Powerstrokes. I've had too many friends with them that have had tons of problems while I've had nothing but smooth sailin with my 7.3
I finally went out and drove a truck like I want today. It was an LBZ/Allison, extended cab, short bed, 4x4, LT package(i think thats what it said on the side), cloth interior. The only things I want different are 40/20/40 front seats and sliding rear glass. Oh and it had lights on the roof, I dont want those and I've gotta have black(my trailer's black), this truck was grey.
The first thing I noticed about it was how quite it was! I mean, I like it that my truck is loud outside but inside it can be iritating sometimes. The duramax was so quiet on the road that the wind noise at 70 was louder than the motor. The 6speed was a nice piece too. I like how it will stay in 6th if you want it to so it doesnt hunt as you change speed with traffic. I'm sure gas milage will be much better while towing because of that. Its got plenty of power stock. If feels about as strong as my truck but I've got an intake, no muffler on the stock exhaust, and a Superchips programer. I cant imagine how strong it would be with similar mods. Overall the truck is just awesome. Dont get me wrong, I love my truck, but there's no way in hell I'd buy another ford with these trucks on the market!
I guess now as soon as I get my money in order I'm gonna try and find one like I want or maybe order. Are there any options ya'll think I should check out first to see if I want on the truck I get?
