: problem I can't get rid of

When I set my cruise above or about 72mph it starts bucking or jerking. I am on my 3rd programmer just to eliminate that it is caused by any certain type of program. It did it with a custom tune, a predator, and now it is doing it with the edge J/A. When the truck is stock you can't feel it. This is driving me nuts! I don't drive at that speed much, but it is just irritating that I don't know what is causing it. If I have a problem with the truck (fuel pressure regulator, rail pressure, or something similar) that you can't feel at stock power levels I would like to have it fixed. The problem is you can't just go to the dealer and say " When I have a programmer on my truck it has a problem." Is there anything in the live data that I can check with the predator while it is happening?
On a side note I don't feel that I get the mileage I should with this truck. Maybe this is part of the problem also. Normal driving to town maybe 14mpg, and have never seen more than 16mpg on a 250 to 300 mile trip down interstate cruise set at 70mph. This is with me or the wife driving, so I don't think I have a heavy foot. I wish I lived closer to TxChristopher so he could look at my truck to compare to his and others as per his thread.

Sorry for the novel.

you pretty much answered this yourself...if you are seeing this with every programmer and tune then it has to be something on your truck. Take it to the dealer have it checked out and ask for the latest PCM updates.. you don't have to tell them it happens with a programmer. Just tell them that 2 out of 3 times when using cruise the truck stumbles or hesitates...

programmers amplify any existing problems and bring them to the service faster than without one.

For the speed you are traveling, the mileage is in the normal range. You are probably just seeing a problem with the cruise control being more sensitive with the programmer. At that speed range, the cruise calls for a little more fuel and when stock it is a little more fuel but under the programmers, it shoots in a little too much and then over corrects.

Take it to your dealer and remove all questionable aftermarket stuff.

You do have glitch somewhere and your milage should be better.
