Whats the largest spare that will fit under the truck. I have 285's and would like to know if it will fit.

I had a 315/75/16 for my spare and it fit untill I put my 4" exhaust on. So I would say your 285 should fit even with your exhaust.

I have a 285/75 in my spare tire spot & it fits just fine with standard exhaust. (As an after thought . . .the tire IS on the factory rim)

315/75R16 fits but IMO hangs way too low. I think with aftermarket exhaust it would not have room either. I had 285/75R16 before the 315's and it hung just fine. Anything bigger than 285 and you're looking for trouble I think.

With the Mag-Hytec rear end cover, it doesn`t look like a 265/75/16" tire would fit. Then the added Banks exhaust to the passenger side takes away trying to adjust it over. and to the back is the Trailer hitch. All this on a short bed. There is no way a 285 or anything bigger will fit for sure, and I really don`t think the 265 will either.

You will have to measure to determain for sure what will and what won`t fit.

I dropped the H2 315's and pushed it flush against the hitch, no differential contact, about 1/2". So the conclusion is you can fit the H2 under the short bed, stock. It does hang down, but that is OK with me. The differential still hangs much lower, but the spare is very visible from the back, use a spare lock.

BTW, I ordered the new truck w/o spare, with spare lock and saved $45. It came with spare anyway. ?????
