I heard ford owned cummins. I also heard Dodge was going to have to stop using cummins as their diesel. Is this true. If so when do they have to convert over. If anyone knows please reply.

<DIV>If ford owned Cummins, do you think for one minute that they wouldn't have that engine in their trucks?</DIV>

No Frd does not hold Cummins. However Cummins does have a joint venture with Case IH now CNH (previously Ford tractor or New Holland no relation to Ford motor company any longer) called Consolidated Diesel Company. Thus the birth of the CDC engine. The four to six cylinder diesel engines used in Dodge pickups Case IH tractors and construction equipment. They are now also teamed with I believe Mercedes (German engine company) and have developed the new Iveco engines used in the 8010 rotary combines produced by Case IH. Will any of this new technology drift into the Dodge Engines. I don't know but they are tough motors..
