I was backing out the driveway this morning,spilt my coffee,and backed right into my wifes truck.:help: the damage to my dually was the rear wheel well craked,shatterd,scuffed.I was wondering if anybody has any advise on a whole new rear body&fender from dealer???Or take it to a body shop and hope they do the right thing.I lost that loving feeling for my truck,unless i get a factory painted one. Does anybody know if i can get one somewhere somehow??

The Bed side is $835 from the dealer , you can change it yourself , if you have it fixed its a crap shoot ( ABS is tricky) I have a friend that bought 2 white bed sides on ebay , I have a silver on and almost got a whole new bed on ebay but quit at $800 , it sold for $1031 . I have a friend with a body shop and his cost is 35% off and he will paint it for free , If you do the removal and get a bed side maybe a shop will paint a new on cheap?? Good luck !

You'll have to have it painted,unless you can find a skin from a outfit that does conversions to dump bodies or utilities boxes.

Mine was painted as the yard jockey clipped the car it was parked next to when prepping it for delivery,which they had to do NOTHING as I requested 'do not touch'.

Thanks Guys,the truck is silver birch met,I guess what i am thinking is that the factory paint would be better than an auto shop.I was just wondering if i could order one from a dealer already painted,and install it myself.

Dunno...when my truck was 3 months old, I killed the passenger bed side backing into a snow/ice drift. $1500 out the door from the best (read overpriced...but still does killer work) bodyshop in town. This included OE Bedside and Colormatched Paint. I think Imron, but will have to look. They also took off the 4x sticker from the driver's side. To this day, you cannot tell I had any body work done to my truck.

You can't buy fender painted from factory just make sure it a gm replacement and have body shop paint it if they know what they doing the color will match. It bolts on with plastic bolts behind tailights and up front between cab and under plastic cap on top also two suport brackets down by the wheel. I took my truck in for service to dealer when i got there to pick it up they said they wanted to wash it. I though how nice so i waited after about 20 min i went to see what was taking so long and i see then backing out of a drive thru car wash i figured that can't be good.So walk over and see a hole punched thru the fender:eek: a young girl car lot jockey jump out of truck crying.service manager ordered me new side fender and i took it to my body shop and had painted and mounted cost them 1.200 plus fender dealer cryed about the price but paid pluse rental car. looks like new.
