I'm havin a few lil issues with my truck. First off the fuel gauge doesn't work, hasn't work for a while now. Wondering what I might have to do to fix it. Next up is I've had 2 hub bearing assemblies put on the passenger side of the truck in 3 years, and I think it's going out again. What's up with this?? Any clues?? Last but not least, anyone know how to tighten a gear box(I'm repeating what the tech guy said to me)? All help would be greatly appreciated.

1. The fuel level unit in the tank is shot, very common problem on the Dodges.
2. Hub bearing failures are not uncommon, but I would check the ball joints to make sure they're not letting wheel flop around while driving. The only other thing I've seen cause hubs to fail often is rims causing the tires to stick out way to far and stress the bearings, but this will normally cause ball joints to fail.
3. There is an allen screw in the top of the steering box with a jam nut on it, that is the adjustment screw for the preload spring in the box. This is the one he is reffering to.

Any other questions feel free to ask.

Lots of help thanks, a bunch. As for the ball joints they're 8 months old. Everything in the front end cept for the axle is 8-10 months old. My father replaced the hub assemblies, said it was to hard for me to do. Although I did everything else just fine, and there are no issues with that. I'm having a friend that's a mechanic for peterbilt look at it 3 days, when he's off work. Then I'll more than likely go parts shopping. Thanks though...really do appreciate it.

When you tighten the steering gearbox allen screw up only go about 1/8 of a turn. if you go more than that you run the risk of preloading the bearing too much and the box will fail. last box i bought was $650 with a discount.
