Hello everyone,

I am new to the site. Over the last couple of months (while waiting for my 2500HD D/A 4x4 to arrive) I have been reading your discussions and learning quite a bit about my first diesel. I just received it last week and I can't wait to start installing toys on it. The first two items on my list are a Line-X liner and a bed lid. On my last truck I had the SnugTop tonneau cover which I was very happy with it. After 9 years of ownership it looked like new, the only thing I ever had to do was replace the locks (at which time I upgraded to barrel locks). I have not been able to find anyone in my area with the Retrax product to get a close look at it. I have concerns about how the glossy black lexan surface holds up with age and also the quality of the locking system. The ability to lock it at any point in the rail is a big plus. Do those of you who own the Retrax feel that the locks are secure? Has anyone else done the Line-X coating (mentioned in a previous thread) on the Retrax frame? Any pictures of it?

I dont have linx x on the frame but I think it would look good with an over the rail spray... Retrax will tell you to treat that cover like the hood of your truck... LOL...To say the least, It is more delacate than the paint on your hood... But even with all the micro-scratches it gets... it still looks good.... If you wash your truck by hand... and you get your truck dirty.... You will see "wash marks"..... But its still is good...

The locking mechanism works well.... but is only real secure in the full rear position... Other than than it is movable with force.... Great cover!
