I just installed a new 6.2 in my old sub. I had the compression lowered to 19.5:1 and I had the rotating assembly balanced. I have a t3 turbo non wastegate, And this pig still dies going up hills. I have a 96 burb with the 6.5 and it is a completly different machine. (see signature) I am wondering if a wastegated turbo with a turbo master would make any difference?

ok, the t3 indicates the exhaust mounting flange. What exhaust wheel is it, and what is the A/R? After that we'll get to the intake side.

I believe that the exhaust wheel just has a 4 bolt flange that points directly towards the firewall. The intake points straight foward towards the radiator. What does A/R stand for?

How about some numbers, how much boost are you getting, egt's, what kind of fuel injection pump are you using, if mechanical, have you turned it up and how much?

And the yet not main difference in vehicles that isn't already mentioned is going to be gearings. The 6.5 will most likely have 4.10 rear end gear ratio, possibly 3.73. Most 6.2 subs (mainly half tons) were 3.08 geared or 3.42. Gearing will make a big difference in how well the vehicle is able to overcome hills.

I Found the numbers on the pump and they are 4506 Turbo, mechanical injection.
