: MBRP Part number?

I am looking for a 304 SS and found a couple of MBRP part numbers. The 'Off Road' is S6004304 and is described as including a downpipe. I assume that it works on an 05 LLy and eliminates the cat. Is this a direct replacement? Can the cat be reinstalled without much trouble should the truck have to go back to the dealer? Why would it be cheaper than the S6000304 (cat back system)? It should have more material than the CB since there should be a pipe where the cat was...

Any other issues besides the need for an EGR backing plate and finger sticks as far as throwing codes, performance, running with the MBRP 'Off Road' as opposed to the regular LLy cat back?

I guess I should also ask - Does the 304 steel keep looking good after use? I tow on a muddy road now and again and if the 304 get discolored is there any advantage over the 409 setup for $300 cost differential? I can get a 409 dual 'Off Road' (S6006409) for little more than the 304 single...any recommendatations here?

I will mention that I have a B & W Turnover Ball GN hitch that I will be installing also if that is of any concern with regard to the dual setup...

Bottom line is the S6004304 the one I want to get if I want to eliminate the cat?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

yes, cat pipe is easily removed and installed...30 minutes tops..link in my sig.

yes, if you want the cat delete you want the turbo back kit and not the cat back.

I believe the cat back system is more because it has the 4-bolt flange welded on, and the off-road system does not.

Thanks gentlemen. I will go with the catback and add the frontpipe. Sounds like the off-road version doesn't have the flange to remove pipe if needed.

I spoke to a local vendor who said the frontpipe was included in the s6000304 package.

Badhara,

The 304 will stay pretty for a long long time. It has a high nickel and chromium content and last! With the off road system you will not be able to install you cat easily,it doesn't contain the 4 bolt flaneg and you will have no way to re insert the stock cat pipe without cutting and welding etc. If you want to be able to re insert the cat at will you need part number S3000304 and part GMS9-401, this will get you the 4 bolt flange and work like you want it to. Occassionally the B&W hitches cause so interferrence, but with a little extra time you can get around it no big deal. Be sure you call us so you get the right thing the first time, otherwise it'll cost you a lot of shipping dollars etc.
