I have a few questions for people who have had a truck bought back by GM. My arbitration is set for 12 Jan.
When they figure what you paid for the truck do they refund your GM card dollars that were used as a down payment?
Do they refund the tax dollars that were saved by the value of your trade? What I mean is I only had to pay tax on 25000 dollars due to trade in. On a new truck I will hav to pay tax on the full 45000 dollars.
If on the buy back you want an new truck the same as what you had do they help you with getting that at a deal like you got on the truck being bouht back?
Example my truck sticker 51,000.
Sale price 44726
rebate 3000
GM dollars 2000
Cost of truck to me 39726
A new truck equiped exactly the same right now it 51300.

Sounds like the best bet would be to try to see what kind of deal they will work you on a trade for a new one. Sounds like you got a really good deal on the one you got their fore they will probably be giving you alot less then you can get one for now. I guess when you get your money try to see if they can get you hooked up with a good deal on a new one again.
Good Luck. When I fought with them the buy back offer was less than I owed after deducting for milage at .36 cents a mile. Real good deal huh? I think what you will get is a figure that is a lot less that you are planning on. They look at the wholsale number minus milage. Might have a chance of getting them to even trade and pay the milage charges.

Ask for EVERYTHING. Also only pay milage from new to the first time you complained not the milage when you turn it in. Also ask for a bumper to bumper 100k warranty, I did and got it on one of my buy backs. On my other buy back they purchased the custom wheels and tires and ALL the other options I installed on it. Since I started my complaint at 50 miles I paid no milage.
You can always let them know that if you don't like the offer you will see a Shyster and that will cost them an additional 50k in his expenses.

They go with the sticker price. I had my 05 bought back with 2100 miles on it. I had to wait for the 06 to come out. I had to pay the difference between the two sticker prices and the tax on that amount. You need to  !!!

Where they GM options? For instance if I go this route I have added rhino line and undercoat via ziebart. Also window louvers.

They have not bought mine back yet. The arbitration for the issues I have with my truck is on Jan 12th. I have many trips to the dealer with no successful repair to date. I have three certified letters to GMC customer assistance center about the problem. I have countlesss phone calls to GMC customer assistance. I opened a case with the BBB.
My first post is asking questions based on the letter I got from BBB stating possible out comes from the arbitration.
I have been told they will not go with sticker price.
My real desire is for them to fix this truck or put me in a 06 that has all the same equipment this truck has.
I am not against having to pay 25 cent a mile for my use. I am against them only giving me 37,000 for this truck minues 25 cents a mile and my having to pay 50,000 to get a new truck equiped the same way.
What I want to know is if they do the buy back will they offer you a new truck with you only paying the use of the old one?

When GM bought back a truck from me in 93' I got everything I had into it!!! Bedliner, T-Cover, Etc......I won the Lemon Case but it took them over 2 months to get me the check, but still got to drive the truck. The best part is I ordered a new truck and it sat on the dealers lot for almost a month. I finally told the dealer on a Wednesday morning if I can't pick up the new one by Friday afternoon they were both their's. Guess what I got on Friday.....It is not like I was going to buy a Ford!!!!!!!

I had a buyback last year. I upgraded and only had to pay the difference in the sticker. GM dragged their feet for 6 weeks. The new truck was on the lot, they admitted the old truck was a lemon, old truck went in for service 3 times during the 6 weeks, they "repaired" it each time and paid for a rental. (Old truck had electrical and trans problems, driving easy it would go into neutral or only have 1st and 3rd, shut ignition off and restart and it "may" be fine.) I kept calling to get the new truck sooner and explained that I have papers from GM stating the truck is a lemon and if something happens to me while driving I couldnt possibly loose in a suit. They said there is nothing they can do to speed up the process:blahblah:
